Hon'ble Commerce Minister Mr.Tipu Munshi, MP to Inaugurate 7th edition of LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2019 on 31st October at the mezzanine floor of Hall No.4 at ICCB, Dhaka in presence of Dr. Md. Jafar Uddin, Secretary, Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of Bangladesh and leaders of various industry associations.
ASK Trade & Exhibitions Pvt Ltd is organizing 7th edition of LEATHERTECH Bangladesh 2019 , hugely popular International Tradeshow on Machinery, Components, Chemicals & Accessories for LEATHER, FOOTWEAR AND LEATHERGOODS sector of Bangladesh between October 31 and November 2, 2019 in Hall Nos. 1,2,2A,3,4 at International Convention City, Bashundara unveiling the sustainable technology of the future. In addition 3rd edition of Bangladesh Leatherfootwear & Leathergoods International Sourcing Show-BLLISS 2019 being organized by Leathergoods and Footwear Manufacturers & Exporters Association of Bangladesh ( LFMEAB) is being held concurrently.
Over 300 exhibitors from nearly 20 countries with CLE & IFCOMA pavilion from India, Wenzhou & Jinjiang Association pavilion from China and an exclusive Finished Leather Pavillion from Pakistan Tanners Association PTA, spread over 4 halls will be participating in the event with Finished Products in Hall No.1, Machinery for Tanning Leather, Manufacturing Footwear and Leathergoods in Hall no.2 and 2A, Finished Leather & Chemicals in Hall No.3 and Components & Accessories and allied products in Hall No.4, to benefit the Footwear and Leathergoods sector in Bangladesh.
With the government forming a high-level taskforce to identify the problems and the way forward for the development of the country's leather sector, market expansion and the way to increase export earnings it augurs well for the sector. Besides Bangladesh has planned to invite Leather Working Group (LWG), a global rights body, to examine the Savar Tannery Industrial Estate (STIE) to attain the standard certificate which once obtained is expected to accelerate the growth of the sector. The taskforce will also prepare guidelines on how to achieve international compliance and standards by following the environment law and related rules of the country. With continous growth and encouraged by the support given by the government the sector is working towards an ambitous target of USD 5 Billion in exports by the year 2021.
